Motorcycle racing and Cowboy Bebop have been a long time favorite and inspiration for me. After watching an episode of Bebop, I got this mash up idea. It's taken about a year and a half - a few hours here and there. What originally started as a simple Maya model, slowly snowballed into this bigger and bigger project. The ship is roughly 57 k faces including the interior, the set is around 87k. Normal maps were used at a minimum with a greater focus on modeling detail. Main lighting is from an HDR image, with a few spotlights for the...spotlights. The backdrop of the city is concept art from Mass Effect 2.   The second piece is a train from a Nintendo DS game, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. My main goal was to take a very low poly, low detail vehicle, viewed on a three inch screen and bring a high res life to it. Normal maps were utilized more with this piece and combined with larger modeled pieces that held strong edges. A couple things I'd like to point out are found at 00:45; the three green heart lights at the top, the rope whistle on the left and the gear lever on the right are pulled straight from the 2D UI of the game and can be seen in the screen shot at 00:31.   The final piece is my very own Fender five string Jazz Bass. I'm most proud of the tuning knobs on the underside of the neck; which a good friend and colleague of mine taught me a new technique for. I was very picky with getting this to be as accurate and detailed as possible, which was simple thanks to the fact that I physically own it.
